Nature Refuge

Wild Wings & Swampy Things was formally declared a Nature Refuge in December 2006.  85% of our 40ha property is included in our Conservation Agreement with Queensland Parks and Wildlife.

We are delighted to have the recognition of Nature Refuge as we know that our work to protect and enhance these Daintree Wetlands, which form part of the Daintree River Valley catchment, is now well protected. This reinforces our ongoing commitment to conserving the natural values and improving those areas that were previously cleared.   Although there is sufficient flexibility written into our Nature Refuge agreement to ensure a viable economic future for the property, the restoration and regeneration of our landscape will continue to be a priority.
